Colonel Noah Orr was born on September 19, 1836, in Union County. His claim to fame was his incredible height of 7 feet and 8 inches tall and weight of 500 pounds. He toured with the circus around the country and performed as a “giant” from the 1850s to the 1880s. This building would be his final home and place of passing when he died here on July 1, 1882.
